Altdorf City Rank Two

September 28th, 2008

So finally order side on my server managed to rank up the capital city. The big change here is that Sigmar’s Hammer opens up. If you are in a guild with a guild rank above 6 then you are able to enter the tavern. It is located far to the south in Altdorf at the top of the stairs behind the guild registrar. It holds a quartermaster where you are able to buy crafting items and recall scrolls. Also there are two renown gear merchants, the ones you from tier2 and up normally have to locate inside keeps. Lastly we have a flightmaster on the roof of the tavern as well where you will have access to additional flight paths based on your guilds rank. Bit expensive though, a trip to chaos wastes was 50s. Other than access to Sigmar’s Hammer I did not really see many changes. Slums still look like the slums but merchants carry more items. I am sure if we all looked more careful we would be able to spot alot of smaller changes, but probably need a lot more than just one rank to really spot a difference.

Collectors Edition Mousepad

September 25th, 2008

So when I got the collectors edition home one of the first things I did was get out the mousepad so it could replace the mousepad I got from Burning Crusade collectors edition. The mousepad looks really cool, but… After having used it for a little while now I am afraid I have to call it a failure for one simple reason. The mousepads backside is to slippery and you end up moving the mousepad instead of the mouse a bit to often. Sad to say the mousepad will go back in the CE box as a collectors item and I will get out the previous mousepad again. I hope Mythic or GOA will consider this when including a mousepad for the collectors edition of the first Warhammer expansion pack.

Update 29th September: Remember to peel the backside plastic off the mousepad.

Public Quest During Headstart Launch (Video)

September 16th, 2008

Been a few days now since I posted and of course a lot has happened since then. One tiny thing… The game has started! So naturally I have been busy in the game and created a runepriest on Karak Eight Peaks and got it to 10rr10 on the first day of playing. A thank you to GOA is in it’s place here since the launch went really well and there was no problems what so ever with entering head start and bonus item codes. Had a couple of crashes of the game in the first period that made me have to sit in launch in queue a few times but that is a Mythic problem and so far it has not been more than I could accept for the launch of a new mmorpg.

Now I have a lot to write and share about Warhammer Online already. The first thing is a video i captured on the first day that I hope shows how special a launch experience is with the starting areas being more active than we will ever see them be. This video is from the first public quest in the dwarf area and I doubt that we will ever see it be completed much faster than this.

Guild ranks

September 11th, 2008

A quick little update on all the guild ranks in Warhammer Online. These gives the guild the ability to have a calender, taxes, tithes, vault and many more. A lot of ranks gives additional tactic points, standard abilities and transit options. Also, the ranks 27 and 39 have “Coming Soon” listed. Otherwise the important ranks to keep an eye out for will be:

  • [2]: Guild Calender
  • [3]: Guild Taxes, Tithes
  • [4]: Guild Vault
  • [5]: Guild Standard
  • [6]: Guild Alliances
  • [7]: Guild Store
  • [8]: Guild Auctions
  • [9]: Heraldry
  • [14]: Keep claiming
  • [25]: Reduced cost renown gear
  • [40]: City Heraldry

/emotelist

September 10th, 2008

Some people believe these things are not needed. But small things like good emotes are something that is very cheap to make, uncomplicated and gives the game a lot of flair and personality. Personally I am of the belief that every single /emote should be animated with its own sound effect or voice recording. I hope we will see Mythic update all their emotes to that level since far to few at the moment is at that point. A few important ones to add animation and sound on would be /burp, /fart, /rude, /insult, /intimidate and a lot more. You can view the full list in game or see them all below as they were in the open beta as of the time of this posting. Also, I really hope Mythic has added tome unlocks for their usage, although I have not been able to unlock any for that so far.

  • /agree, /beckon, /beg, /belch, /bored, /bow, /brandish, /burp, /bye,
  • /charge, /cheer, /chicken, /clap, /cower, /cry, /dance, /disagree, /drink
  • /drunk, /eat, /fart, /flex, /frown, /glare, /gloat, /grumble, /halt, /happy
  • /hello, /howl, /impatient, /insult, /intimidate, /kata, /laugh, /lol, /mad
  • /no, /pickteeth, /pig, /point, /ponder, /pray, /puke, /rude, /salute, /scratch
  • /scream, /showoff, /shrug, /shy, /slit, /smile, /special, /stomp, /talk, /taunt
  • /thank, /thanks, /think, /toast, /tome, /waagh, /warcry, /warhammer, /wave
  • /weep, /welcome, /whistle, /yawn, /yell, /yes.

Character Selection Easter Egg

September 9th, 2008

Quick little post this time. If you spin your character on the character selection screen they get tired and dizzy.
